The NFL on Wednesday issued a security alert to all 32 teams, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, about a group of organized and skilled criminals that are targeting the homes of professional athletes.
According to the memo, those crimes include the recent burglaries Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce.

“It’s legit,” a source familiar with the situation told Pelissero. “It’s a transnational crime ring, and over the last three weeks, they’ve focused on NBA and NFL players, and it’s all over the country.”
According to police, Cowboys defensive tackle Linval Joseph’s home was part of a series of burglaries last weekend.
Joseph was drafted by the Giants in the second round of the 2010 draft. He was with New York from 2010 to 2013 and started all for playoff games in pursuit of the Super Bowl XLVI title in the 2011 season. He spent 2014 to 2019 with the Vikings and then was with the Chargers in 2020 and 2021 before joining the Eagles in 2022.
According to Pelissero, the perpetrators do not burglarize homes while residents are inside and use public records to figure out where athletes live. They then use team schedules and the social media’s of family members to determine when no one will be home.
