    Description

An original wonderful antique so called Milliner model doll circa 1820-30's which was most likely made in Sonneberg Germany and which has its original clothing along with the history of ownership in a Kinderhook New York family. The doll which I believe is called the Adelaida model is a shoulder headed doll on its original kid body with painted wooden limbs. The doll has black painted hair done in a Apollo style knot and the doll measures approximately 13" tall. I have taken a picture of the note which was found with the doll which details the descent of this doll in this Kinderhook New York family (Elvira Swook who married John Niver Pockman and down through descent). Condition - all original with no restoration. Doll has some wear to original painted surface as shown. Limbs are all intact and original with no chips or loss just some wear to the paint. There is some surface hairline cracks to the back of the neck but doll is structurally sound and there have been no repairs. A wonderful antique Milliner model doll with rare history of descent which is completely fresh to the market.
