Antique French UNIS 301 Papier Mache Doll In Original Clothing-1

Description

This is a French Unis 301 all papier mache doll with blue sleepy eys and a replaced antique wig of unknown material, perhaps saran, made up of lots of curls, pulled back from her face and tied back with a blue ribbon.  She wears white socks and white leather shoes ( although she does have painted on shoes that are chipping off)  and white pantalettes.  Her dark blue silk dress is in very good shape and fastens up the back with hooks and eyes.  However, the gold threaded trim around the edge of the hem is becoming worn and the threads are breaking and becoming ragged and had to be trimmed.  All other gold trim is in good shape.  There is a detachable apron where the blue ribbons were replaced with new ones; one than that, this also appears to  be in great shape.  She cam to me without a wig,and I tried to find a wig big enough for her in mohair but I only had this one.  I think she look great.  I think she will make a grand addition to the papier mache doll collector or someone collecting Unis French dolls.
