LARGE  &  WONDERFUL   PAPIER  MACHE   DOLL
Circa: 1880's to 1910  -  Possible: Cuno & Otto Dressel

Just imagine - this doll is over 100 years old.
She is 25 inches tall.

Information also found in  page # 125 in Jan Foulke's Guide To Dolls.  This antique Papier Mache doll is a real find.  Take a good look at the two body photos.  The body is cloth with leather fore arms/ hands.
The leather hands are worn.
She has leather hand made boots with a cloth tassel.  I love the red corset with red lower legs.  She has a lot of antique cotton clothes as follows:  an under dress; an under vest; lace trimmed pantaloons; lace trimmed underskirt; green check skirt with matching jacket; straw hat; and a straw basket with flowers.
The clothes are excellent.
For a change of pace, she would display splendid with no clothes and with her clothes along side her.  The Papier Mache shoulder plate is not marked.  The head and shoulder plate are in excellent condition.  The facial coloring is very good.  It is obvious that she has been on display with very little play except her hands.  She is a terrific example of this style of Papier Mache from this region of Germany.  From our home to yours.
